Childbirth is widely reported to be the most painful thing a woman can experience in her lifetime. But what if we told you that not only does it not have to be painful, but it can actually be pleasurable? This mother of four turned each of her childbirth experiences from terrifying to titillating by studying the process of hypnobirth. Before you pass it off as new-age nonsense, read up on her story about how she supposedly experienced a 3-week orgasm after each birth because of it.

Traditional hospital delivery. A traditional scene in a hospital delivery room involves a lot of bright lights and doctors commanding you to "PUSH!" For lack of a better word, for a lot of expecting parents, the process of giving birth in a hospital can be total, utter, and complete chaos. Let alone extremely painful. This is not what mother-of-four Emily Street wanted for her birthing experiences. Instead, she opted for another birthing method – the hypnobirth.

She was an experienced midwife. Emily Street is a consultant for leading UK fertility clinic Reproductive Health Group and an experienced midwife. As such, she knows the in's and out's of pregnancy and childbirth. She knew about the pain, the stress, the aftermath. She had been exposed to hypnobirthing and decided that it was a type of birth she wanted to try.

Hypnobirth. You may be picturing a man in a suit and a top hat swinging a pocket watch back and forth telling you that you are getting "very, very sleepy" on the table with your legs spread eagle, but that's not what's going on here. The hypnobirth method is all about a calm psychological approach.
Courses in hypnobirthing. Leading up to the birth of her first son, Oscar, Emily Street took a three-part course in hypnobirthing to familiarize herself with the technique. Having previously felt terrified about nearing the birthing experience, she now felt calm and self-assured.

Slow breaths. This method of giving birth relies heavily on a slowed down breathing technique. This allows for your mind and your muscles to relax, making the birth easier on you psychologically and physically. Think of it as meditating while in labor.

Mood lighting. Street also shares that the environment is very important in a hypnobirth. Setting the correct lighting, for example, is crucial. Dimmed, mood lighting creates a more relaxed atmosphere for the mother-to-be, as opposed to the brightness of typical hospital lights.
Play some music. Street also says that she had music playing during her birthing experiences. Like the mood lighting, the music helped her to relax and establish a calm, comforting atmosphere that was soothing instead of intimidating.

Calm. It was in this state of supreme calm that Street gave birth to each of her four children. "I absolutely loved every minute of being in labour," she says of her births. This is quite the opposite story we normally hear from mothers who have gone through childbirth.

Endured minimal discomfort, zero pain. For her, there was absolutely no pain involved, only a slight sense of discomfort every now and then. Overall, however, each of her four births were experiences that she cherishes and wishes she could relive. Not only was it not painful, but it was pleasurable.
The longer the labor, the better. Street says that her last two births were her most pleasurable because they lasted longer. Usually, the opposite is true. The longer a woman is in labor, the more excruciating of an experience it is. Not here! Street actually preferred the longer births, saying that they felt "nicer."

Wishes she could experience it again. This is a picture of Emily Street and her four children. She doesn't want any more kids, she says, but she intensely wishes that she could experience the sensation of giving birth again. "I'm gutted I won't ever experience it [again] because I think it's absolutely amazing," the mom shares.

Enjoyed every single birth. Not only did Street thoroughly enjoy every single birth, but the after effects were apparently extremely wonderful as well. For several weeks after each of her births, she reports experiencing an extremely intense euphoria.
