
Scott Herron, 19, of Ayr, Scotland, was sentenced to 10 months in prison for violating a court order issued due to his sexual misconduct. Herron was caught on two separate occasions having sex with girls under the age of 15. He was caught in the act by a 14-year-old girl's father.Herron appeared in court in 2015 but did not receive a jail sentence at that time because he was 17. He reportedly told the magistrate that "14 is as young as I go." Herron was observed leaving court on a bicycle. He was ordered to stay indoors at two different addresses in the town of Ayr. The curfew was imposed due to Herron posing a Risk of Sexual Harm. Herron violated the court orders.Herron's attorney referred to him as an "immature young man" in court, saying that Herron has "ostrich syndrome" because he buries his head in the sand.

The following article was printed in the Carrick Herald on July 30, 2015 in connection with Herron's first offense: "A TEENAGE boy has been convicted of having sex with a 14-year-old girl in a common close in Ayr. Scott Herron, 17, was seen having intercourse with her outside by a passerby on May 16 at 5.30pm. The man challenged Herron, who was on top of her, Ayr Sheriff Court heard last week. Procurator fiscal Iain Grey said: “The witness challenged the accused and informed him of the complainers’ age. However, the accused stated 14 was the youngest age he would go. Later that night at 9pm the victim failed to return home after her mother asked her to."
Efforts to find her failed. The Carrick Herald article dated July 30, 2015 continues: "And as efforts were made to find her, the sex offence which took place in Ayr North earlier in the day was revealed.The witness then reported the crime to the police.After taking statements, officers took the girl to Ayr Police Office.Herron, of Mill Street, Ayr, was interviewed and charged.But he told cops: ‘It’s not true,’ Mr Grey said in court."Lawyer John Gallagher said: “The complainer was someone Mr Herron had known for a number of years.” Sheriff Mhairi MacTaggart deferred sentence for reports.She did not add him to the sex offenders’ register because of his young age, the court heard.Herron left court on a bike."

The Daily Record. The Daily Record reported the new charges filed against Herron in 2017. Herron violated the protective orders entered by the court on two separate occasions. "Scott Herron, 19, appeared in the dock at Ayr Sheriff Court after breaching a Risk of Sexual Harm order on two separate occasions. He had been told to stay indoors at an address in Ayr’s Mill Street and again in Craigie Avenue in the town. But he has been locked up after being found outside those addresses without reasonable excuse."

Ostrich syndrome. Herron's attorney referred to him as an immature young man and said that he has "ostrich syndrome" because he buries his head in the sand rather than facing reality.
Caught outside. Herron was caught having sex with an underage girl outside.

From Herron's Facebook. Herron's Facebook page contains several sexually suggestive photos.

Age fourteen. Herron shocked the magistrate by saying "fourteen is as young as I go."
The sentence. Herron was sentenced to ten months in prison.
Risk of Offending Again. Prosecutors argued that Herron is very likely to offend again, and is a sexual predator.

Ignored orders. Herron blatantly ignored the orders imposed by the court. He went into areas of the town where he was not allowed to go, and he did not obey his curfew.
Girlfriend. According to Herron's Facebook profile, his current girlfriend is 16 years old.
High school girlfriend. Herron's 16-year-old girlfriend posted a status update on Facebook following Herron's arrest saying that she was extremely distressed.

Bicycle. Following his 2015 arrest, Herron left court on a bicycle.
Release date. Herron will be released in early 2019.
Court orders. It is unknown whether the terms of his release will be conditional.

Sex offender. Herron will have to register as a sex offender as a result of his actions.
