So, like, what happened? We’re glad you asked. On May 5, 2015, a Pennsylvania woman was thrown in jail after pleading guilty to charges arising from having loud sex, playing loud music and responding to a neighbor’s pleas that she quiet down with threats. Whether or not the woman was partying due to good ole Cinco de Mayo remains unclear, though she was definitely celebrating something. Arriba!

The perpetrator. The culprit? Meet Amanda Marie Warfel. Last week, the 26-year-old woman of Red Lion pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and harassment charges, The Daily Progress reports. Locked up in the York County prison until June 20, Warfel has one more count pending.

The victims. Neighbor Tanya Saylor told the York Daily Record that her family has dealt with Warfel’s loud noise through their rowhouse wall for two long years now. Saylor told the newspaper she lives in the home with her five children — all between the ages of nine and 17 — and her terminally ill husband. She added that one of her children has cancer.

The victims. At one point, Saylor’s 17-year-old daughter with cancer needed to be quarantined for 10 days after receiving treatment. During that time, WFLA-TV reports, Warfal had sex “non-stop, making sure that my daughter heard,” Saylor said. Horrible, to say the least.

The victims. Saylor said she sometimes put headphones on her young children to block the disruptive and X-rated commotion."It's pretty pathetic when you have to have a protocol due to your neighbor's actions," Saylor told York Daily Record. Safe to say, the uproar must have been pretty, pretty loud.

Years of trying. When the loud noise first become apparent, Saylor said she would ask Warfel to quiet down. Obviously, that didn’t help the problem. Subsequently, things evolved over time, leading to Warfel’s arrest last week. She had it coming, to be honest.

Past wrongdoings. What’s more, police reports say the Saylor’s furniture oftentimes shook. In fact, on March 21, Warfel was “loudly fornicating and banging around her bedroom to the degree that the victims’ dresser and her own bed shook,” an affidavit of probable cause says. On Warfal’s behalf, that’s a whoooole lot of switching positions and insensitivity to her neighbor’s situation.

Past wrongdoings. But things get worse. At times when having sex, Warfel would describe the sexual acts loudly enough for the children to hear, Saylor told the York Daily Record. As if things weren’t bad enough already, jeez.

Regrets. Regarding the entire situation, Saylor told KARE News that she regrets letting it all go on for so long. “She harassed my kids for two years,” Saylor said, according to KARE’s report. “I should have started calling the police a year ago.”

Warfel’s criminal history. The Daily Progress reports that this isn’t Warfel’s first offense. The 26-year-old’s criminal history includes drug, theft and assault charges. In other words, she’s been around the block once or twice before.

Other cases. This isn’t the first time in history a woman has landed herself in jail over loud sex. In 2015, a woman in Birmingham, England, hung out in a jail cell for two weeks because she had sex so loud that it “annoyed her neighbors,” the Huffington Post reported. See, America isn’t the only place people where are totally rude and disrespectful.

Other cases. At the time, Gemma Wale was the target of an “antisocial behavior order” which forbade her from bugging her neighbors after they complained to the city council that she’d been making a ruckus in her apartment. Apparently, Wale was getting into loud fights with her partner, Wayne, the BBC reported.

Other cases. Eventually, neighbors reported that Wale had an incredibly loud and disruptive sex session early in the morning, thus violating the “antisocial behavior order.” “Gemma started screaming and shouting whilst having sex, which woke us up,” a neighbor said at a hearing in May, 2015. “This lasted 10 minutes.” 10 minutes, huh? Not so bad.

Other cases. The court concluded that Wale had, in fact, violated the order, as it prohibited her from blasting loud music, shouting, swearing, making banging noises, stomping and slamming doors, The Guardian reports. How did she live like this? We’ll seriously never know!
